Sigma stretch film lead times.

SIGMA STRETCH FILM...We have updated our lead times out of the Kentucky facility and we have seen significant improvement in all areas. With respect to the pre-stretch program, much of this is due to the managed program we implemented back in January. Blown 1 week standard. 2 weeks custom Cast 2 weeks standard. 3 weeks custom Pre-stretch 7 weeks standard. 8 weeks custom Pricing is flat this month with talk of lower pricing coming later this spring. Although, there is never any guarantees of what direction pricing will take short term, the fact the resin manufacturers were not able to push through their previously announced increase, is a good sign. We do not expect prices to drop quickly, rather move lower slowly over the next few months, which is good news for all stocking distributors. In the meantime, if you have any specific product ordering needs, please don't hesitate to call me to discuss. Thanks for your continued business and support. Remember, if you need...

The Polyethylene market edged $.005/lb higher. Producers in March rounded out their $.04/lb price increase which began to take hold. A total of $.09/lb has now been implemented in 2013. There is another $.04/lb on the table for April, but few market participants see much validity at this point. North American Polyethylene producers continue to enjoy a long term feedstock cost advantage and can export profitably at will. Natural gas ratio expanded slightly to 24:1, about 4X the 6:1 ratio considered parity. Trade Sources April 2013

Sigma Stretch Film

IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ. We are a couple months into our order management program with pre-stretch and have made significant progress in improving service levels with our highly popular pre-stretch product line. Lead times at our Kentucky facility have improved from 10 to 12 weeks for standard products to 8 weeks as of mid March. Corporately, we will continue to increase our capacity throughout 2013 and just finished adding capacity at a number of Sigma plants during Q1 2013. We have more capacity coming on line the balance of the year, to include added capacity in our Shelbyville, KY plant later this summer / early fall. Although this added capacity will help reduce lead times, the continued demand for this product remains and we need to stay flexible and improve the overall program based on customer needs. To recap, each of you have a monthly HPE / HPS allotment based on your average pounds purchased per month during calendar year 2012. You can order up to that amount each m...

Polyethylene prices began the week by shedding a penny and seemed poised to continue lower but held steady amid rebounding monomer prices and renewed talk of the April $.04/lb price increase (it hasn’t gone away you know). However, material availability remains ample

Resin pricing in April 2013

Spot resin trading was fairly active the first week of April. Fresh railcar offers were slow to flow but the pace picked up as the week wore on. National resellers and Houston traders, sensing lower prices ahead, provided good market liquidity from their warehoused stocks. Despite another $.04/lb price increase on the tables for April contracts, the spot PE market began the month by shaving a half-cent from March month-end levels. Spot Generic Prime PP prices held steady this past week, although offgrade remained pressured. The Polypropylene market awaits settlement on the decrease for April contracts, which are currently nominated down $.07/lb.

Stretch Film Resin Pricing News

Polyethylene gave back the half-cent it had garnered the previous week - we could be seeing the highest PE prices for this market cycle. Resellers and exporters were aggressive sellers, influenced more by falling Ethylene prices than the $.04/lb price increase nominated for April. Polyethylene contracts already rose $.09/lb during the first quarter and based on the current condition of the spot Ethylene market, this added increase seems unlikely.
