The Polyethylene market edged $.005/lb higher.
The Polyethylene market edged $.005/lb higher. Producers in March rounded out their $.04/lb price increase which began to take hold. A total of $.09/lb has now been implemented in 2013. There is another $.04/lb on the table for April, but few market participants see much validity at this point. North American Polyethylene producers continue to enjoy a long term feedstock cost advantage and can export profitably at will. Natural gas ratio expanded slightly to 24:1, about 4X the 6:1 ratio considered parity.
