Stretch Film and Resin pricing Jan 2013

The confetti was barely settled but the resin markets wasted no time starting the New Year off with a bang. Commodity resin prices have already risen $.01-.03/lb in January and the markets are poised to move still higher as new contract prices come into play. International buyers are providing underlying demand, lifting the floor of the Houston market price. Current supply/demand fundamentals are supporting producer price increase efforts and if they follow through, PE could be up a nickel.
