Preventative Maintenance for Arch Strapping Machines
Automatic arch strapping machines with more moving parts and
electronic components, automatic machines require a bit more attention.
Checklist:
Daily: Clear strap dust and debris from the machine –
particularly near the cutters and strap guide. Remove plastic residue.
Weekly: Lubricate the front bar, press bar and rear
bar.
Monthly: Check all belts and gears for wear and tear.
Clean both sides of the heater plate. Check cam rollers of seal head for easy
movement. Slide table back to home position automatically by the spring
tension. Clean any debris in the tension roller.
Every 6 Months: Perform a deep clean and test all
sensors for accuracy. Check the heater plate and make sure the connector at the
wiring loom to the printed circuit board is firmly fixed.
Pro Tip: Keep an eye on the sealing head – any dirt
buildup can reduce the strength of your strap seals!
General Best Practices for All Strapping Machines.
Keep It Clean: Dust and strap residue can wreak havoc
on any machine.
Use Quality Strapping Materials: Cheap materials lead
to more jams and increased wear.
Train Your Team: Proper usage minimizes wear and
tear.
Schedule Regular Inspections: Prevention is always
better (and cheaper) than emergency repairs!
A little maintenance goes a long way in ensuring your
strapping machine stays reliable and efficient. By implementing these
