  Properly wrapping a pallet with stretch wrap isn’t just about covering boxes, it ensures load stability, protects products, and prevents costly damages during transit. Breaking the process into clear steps helps achieve consistent, professional results. Prepare the Pallet and Load: Before wrapping, preparation is critical to prevent shifting or collapsing during transport. Inspect the pallet: Use a strong, undamaged pallet with no cracked boards, nails, or splinters. Weak pallets compromise the effectiveness of the wrap. Match pallet to load: Ensure the pallet can support the weight and size of the stacked items. Stack items strategically: Place heavier products at the bottom for a low center of gravity. Use interlocking or “brick” stacking patterns for boxes. Fill voids: Use cardboard inserts, air pillows, or edge protectors to eliminate gaps.   Type A Loads  Uniform in shape. The load size closely matches the pallet size. These are the easiest loads to wrap. Few film puncture points exist. This type of load is often seen at manufacturing locations where the same product is prepared for shipment load-after-load. Type B Loads  Less uniform than type “A” loads. The stacking pattern may be irregular and /or the load size may not match the pallet size. Several film puncture points exist (more film selection judgement is required). Choosing correct film type is critical especially at high levels of film stretch and /or high film application tension. Type “B” loads appear at smaller manufacturing locations and distribution warehouse locations. Each pallet contains two or three products destined for a single destination.
