Choosing The Right Steel Strapping.

Image
Quick Pak Inc offers a wide selection of steel strapping products, including standard grade, high tensile, and heat-treated options. These products are designed to cater to various load requirements, ensuring the safe and secure transportation of goods across industries.  Winding types of steel strapping: Steel strapping is a vital component in securing heavy loads across various industries, ensuring that products remain intact during transportation and storage. One critical aspect of steel strapping is the method by which it is wound into coils, as this affects both its application and handling. The two primary winding types are oscillated wound and ribbon wound. Oscillated Wound Steel Strapping: In oscillated winding also known as rope or mill wound steel strapping, is where the steel strapping is wound in a tight, uniform pattern across a narrow face width, typically around 2-5/8 inches. This method allows for a longer continuous length of strapping per coil, which can be ...

Steel and Polyester Strapping and When to Use

Image
Trying to decide whether to use steel or polyester strapping is a difficult task for most plant managers. Steel is strong, but polyester is versatile. Which one is the right choice? The information here should help you understand the differences between these two strapping materials. With this knowledge in hand, choosing the right option for your application should be simpler and easier. When to Use Steel vs Polyester Strapping: You can replace steel strapping with polyester. There are a few scenarios when it makes sense to use steel. A good example is when a load is very heavy and non-compressible. Its strength means it is less likely to give way, especially if the load is stable. Some loads may have sharp edges, which could cut other materials, such as polyester. Steel makes sense in both cases. In most other cases, you will want to consider polyester strapping. Loads that are likely to settle, contract, or expand are good contenders for polyester straps. Polyester is also a ...

Choosing The Right Strapping Product

Image
Strapping is an essential protective solution when shipping, or when products are stored for a medium or long period.  Sealing your cartons with tape might offer some protection, but strapping is an excellent product to fully secure the shipment. Strapping provides a tight, strong seal that cannot easily be broken. Regardless of the size of your shipment, strapping can easily be applied. It is also useful when stacking several cartons together as one package – whether to reduce shipping costs or for convenience. There are many different types of strapping available, and it is imperative that you choose the right type suitable for the product being shipped.   Here we can help you to understand different types of strapping and the one that is ideal. Because of the wide variety of strapping options to choose from, selecting the right strapping type can be quite confusing. However, it can get easier if you have a good knowledge of how the different types of strapping work; as ...

Plastic and Steel Strapping in Packaging

Image
Your products deal with many hazards before arriving to your customer; from knocks to tumbles, keeping your product (and its packaging) safe is a simple method to minimize returns.  Two popular methods for securing items together are strapping and banding! Their job is to keep products from shifting or becoming damaged during shipping.  Whether you are packing products for shipping or storage, choosing the right materials and techniques can make all the difference. Here we will cover a few points you need to know about strapping and banding, including the different types of materials, the tools and equipment you’ll need, and tips for selecting the right methods for your specific packaging requirements. Strapping, also known as banding or pallet banding, is a vital part of product packing and distribution. It is used primarily to secure pallets and to bundle items in transit. The choice does vary but comes down to two main categories – metal and plastic. What is strapping m...

Steel Strapping Types

Image
Steel Strapping is used for various purposes such as packaging, banding, and heavy duty bundling.  It is made from high-quality steel that makes it durable and long-lasting. This product is available in different sizes, thicknesses, and widths to meet specific needs.   It has a smooth painted surface that makes it easy to use. This product is widely used in construction, automotive, packaging, and lumber industry. Blue-Tempered Steel Strapping: Blue-Tempered Steel Strapping is a special type of steel strapping, which has gained wide acceptance in the packaging industry. Blue-tempered steel straps are manufactured by heating normal carbon steel above deformed temperature. The process gives it a distinctive blue color and improves its mechanical properties such as ductility, hardness, and strength. It also eliminates the risk of cracking that occurs in low-tempered products under stress or heart conditions. Paint-Coated Steel Strapping: Paint-Coated Steel Strapping ...

Polyester Strapping Advantages over Steel Strapping

Image
Quick Pak High Performance Polyester Advantage.   Unlike alternative strapping products, our polyester combines the strength of steel strapping with the safety and economy of plastic to maximize performance. The result is a more secure load at a lower cost than many alternatives. Some of the many advantages of our polyester over alternative products are: Split Resistance – A small nick or cut will not propagate across the width of the strap. High Retained Tension – The high tension capability of our high-performance polyester allows it to be applied tight. Once it’s on your load, it stays tight, 50% tighter than nylon and up to five times tighter than polypropylene. Elongation Recovery – Applied properly, our high-performance polyester will stretch under tension. However, most of the elongation is recovered after the initial application. The result is a strap that stays tight even when loads are shrinking and settling during transit. Environmentally Sound – our po...
