LLDPE: Stretch resin trends higher again

Chevron Phillips March 1, 2012 RE Price Increase Effective March 1, 2012, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP will increase the price of all polyethylene products by seven ($0.07) cents per pound. This increase is in addition to all previously announced price increases.

Dear ExxonMobil Chemical Polyethylene Customer: In addition to the previous $0.06/lb. price increase implemented in January 2012, ExxonMobil Chemical Co. is announcing the following polyethylene price increases effective with all shipments on or after March 1, 2012.

Producers and processors continue to spar regarding the January price increase. Producers remain intent to maintain the $.06/lb increase that they have billed for Jan. Buyers however, see spot sales at prices less than the current increase market observers have indicated the market steady to $.03/lb higher. If producers do not get their increase in Jan, they will go for it again in Feb.
