Polyethylene prices were mostly steady; offers generally reflect at least half of the $.06/lb price increase still sought for February. Price negotiations are again coming down to the wire; while no producers have conceded the increase, overall demand is questionable and might thwart the effort for the second month in a row, perhaps it will split at $.03/lb. Phone (201) 507-9100 - Fax (201) 507-0447 February 2, 2012 Dear Valued Customer, Due to rising feedstock costs, improving global market demand, and low inventories, our resin suppliers have informed us of their intentions to implement a previously announced resin increase of $.06/lb. effective February 1st. In addition to this February increase, our suppliers have also announced another increase of $.07/lb. for March 1st which we will monitor and address at a later date. In response to the February 1st resin increase, all new orders received on or after February 27th will be priced at a 7% increase. All orders must call for immediate delivery and shipment on or before March 30, 2012. Based on current lead-times and shortness of resin supply, Sigma Stretch Film can only accept a limited number of new orders. Chevron Phillips March 1, 2012 RE Price Increase Effective March 1, 2012, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP will increase the price of all polyethylene products by seven ($0.07) cents per pound. This increase is in addition to all previously announced price increases. Dear ExxonMobil Chemical Polyethylene Customer: In addition to the previous $0.06/lb. price increase implemented in January 2012, ExxonMobil Chemical Co. is announcing the following polyethylene price increases effective with all shipments on or after March 1, 2012. Producers and processors continue to spar regarding the January price increase. Producers remain intent to maintain the $.06/lb increase that they have billed for Jan. Buyers however, see spot sales at prices less than the current increase market observers have indicated the market steady to $.03/lb higher.
