LLDPE: Stretch Wrap Demand Jumps (Nov 3 rd 2009)
October price increase meeting stiff downstream resistance. Order books look better on reports of depleted distributor inventories.
North American resin pricing, PE up. Plastic analysts note that resin prices remain contentious, as discussions on pricing remained mixed, with no agreements were confirmed for October. September contract prices were nominated to increase $0.04/lb, with an additional $0.05/lb increase slated for October. No November price increases were issued, but December contract prices were nominated to increase $0.03/lb.

Polyethylene prices continued to rally this week, adding another $.01/lb to fully recover losses seen earlier in October. October Polyethylene was steady from September levels. It seems that all processors are now up the same $.17/lb so far during 2009.
